I bought a used game for my grandsons birthday he was well pleased we loaded it up but no ball in play although there was one in practise mode.
Apparently EA acknowledge there is a glitch and the way to correct it is:
Go to settings and choose custom ball and save it to hard drive or cloud and then you will be able to play, my advice is if you are buying a used game in particular try it before you give it as a present. An 8 year old can get very upset when it doesn't work.
